First public show with Andrew Walley on Bass.
With Mad Sweet Pangs, Frit, and Dear Havanah
The band’s largest show to date, TT’s was glowing with energy. Mondo Gecko originally met Mad Sweet Pangs through JamBands.com and decided that we must do a show together. We tagged in our old buddies Frit and Pangs brought along Dear Havanah… the chemistry between the four bands and the fans made for an amazing show. All four bands played amazing sets, with Johnny Duke of Dear Havanah sitting in with Frit and Mad Sweet Pangs.
Gecko’s set was extra special and unique: This was the first public show with Walley on Bass, and I think everyone noticed… the playing and communication is at its highest level yet! Also, Eric had a case of bronchitis and was unable to sing; this led to an even higher dose of improvisation that usual, and the extended version of WIM (with Luke singing Eric’s vocals during the “Fractal Paintbrush” section) was spot on and full of energy, despite the band having dropped the ” Take it for what means” ending section of the song.
Due to a malfunctioning recording device, no audio of this show is available.

The band played their first Halloween show inside an art installation by Chicago based artist Juan Angel Chavez.
This was a three hours show (no set break).
This was the first show the Luke incorporated turntables and his laptop.
The band dressed as mad scientists, and there were plenty of antics to along with the theme (smoke machine, flashing lights, glow sticks treated like radioactive material, laboratory sound effects).
Free caramel apples and apple cider were provide.
Video coming soon.

*Luke and Eric: “I want to buy you breakfast. I wanna, I wanna Pray for Mojo. (Pray for Mojo was the opener band: they got their name from a Simpsons episode, and they booked us for this gig… we were very very thankful!)
**Eric starting playing gospel style organ music, at which point Luke starting preacher in a very preacher-like voice, “praising the lord for the funkiness that has consumed us”, and he asked the crowd to “PRAY FOR MOJO”.
