Harpers Ferry with The Breakfast, Allston, MA, 03/20/10

Friday, March 19th, 2010

The weather is amazing, and tonight’s show shouldn’t be any different. The Breakfast will probably play two sets, and we’ve got some special treats in store for you all as well as a new tune or two!

Some bad news though:

Walley’s moving back down south at the end of the month… so this will be our last show with him (at least for a while). He’s bummed, we’re bummed, you’re probably bummed, but we’re all gonna make the best of it and play our hearts out tonight! We’re playing a special tune or two to celebrate his time with Mondo Gecko, so bring your dancing shoes and get ready to get funky! Obviously Mondo Gecko will be a different band with any other bassist, but as always, MG will keep on truckin’ and hope you’ll hang with us as we morph into some new, as of yet undiscovered species of masive lizard.

Harpers Ferry with Shoeless Revolution, Allston, MA, 2/24/10

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010

Three amazing bands for 8 bucks.

SHOELESS REVOLUTION
http://www.shoelessrevolution.com/
The Twin Cities’ “Shoeless Revolution” was born in the belly of the local music ovens of La Crosse, Wisconsin. They’ve anvil’d their sound and aligned their rhythms to the worlds of Funk, Rock, and Pop creating a cinder shower of fast-soul-aerobic-fusion.One year ago they migrated to the Minneapolis/St. Paul arena and have been claiming the Twin Cities as their new stomping grounds. They’ve assembled a crowd of new ears and old by tailoring their songs to follow the gut of the dance floor, and hearken to the call of the funk-visceral-gods!

MONDO GECKO

Mixing a blend of intricate compositions, catchy songs and a fun stage presence, all with an exploratory attitude towards group improvisation, an evening with Boston-based “Neo-Jam Band” Mondo Gecko is always an adventure. The group’s funk rock sound infuses elements of electronica, space grass, reggae, and jazz fusion.

SUPERFROG
http://superfrogmusic.com/
Six handsome gentlemen. One mission. Take over the planet with rock-jamtasticality. What is rock-jamtasticality? It is a way of life. It is a fusion of rock and jam, a sensory overload of pure thrash goodness. These boys live it to a T, vaulting into the local scene and challenging the populace to spend their evenings expanding their minds; twisting, swaying, dancing, and even, at times, frolicking. Superfrog is now poised for a serious spreading of its musical tentacles. Taking over Portland, Boston and NYC will be a mere stepping stone for this grooving six man party-bus.
